Terms and Conditions

Reservations & Confirmations

Course places should be booked on-line or by contact with our administration staff by either phone on 0845 021 2382 / 0845 021 2392 or email admin@mgstraining.co.uk

Hours of Business

Our normal hours of business are Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.30pm.

Individual Course Reservations

Reservations for individual places on our courses will not be held unless otherwise agreed in writing with MGS Electrical Training. Course places will need to be booked by using our on-line booking form at which time payment will be made or by alternative arrangements made with MGS. Payment is required at least 20 working days prior to the start date of your chosen course if not made at the time of booking.

Corporate Course Reservations

All corporate course reservations, whether on a scheduled course or on a specially arranged course where we are conducting the course on your site will need to be confirmed by an official company purchase order – please note that no other arrangements will be entered into unless there is a prior agreement.

The full course cost is due at least 20 working days prior to the commencement of the course. If payment is not made then we reserve the right to release these places/dates and notify you accordingly. Please note that all courses delivered in the EU will be delivered in English. Where courses are arranged outside of the United Kingdom these courses must be confirmed with a purchase order with full payment 6 weeks prior to the course commencement. 

Courses delivered outside of the EU will be carried out by special arrangements and of course, will be subject to a separate schedule of charges.

Cancellations

Please Note: this applies to all City & Guilds Course Cancellations

If you book a City & Guilds course with MGS Electrical Training and are registered with MGS Electrical Training for the examination you will still be charged the £75 + Vat registration fee. Please note that any assessment, where appropriate is covered by separate charges, details of which are available on request. 

Individual Course Cancellations

All cancellations should be made in writing to our Head Office by recorded delivery post. Courses which are cancelled less than 20 working days but more that 10 working days prior to the course commencement date will receive a 50% refund of the course fee minus the registration fee of £75 + Vat. In the event that a candidate wishes to re-arrange a pre-booked course with more than 10 working days prior to that course, MGS Electrical Training will make every effort to accommodate the candidate with an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed and we do not accept any liability if alternative arrangements cannot be made.

Courses cancelled less than 10 working days prior to the course commencement date will not attract a refunded at all.

The candidate agrees that the services provided by MGS Electrical Training have started on the date of placing their order and in accepting these Terms & Conditions.

Individuals are entitled to a 7 day cooling off period from the day after the booking has been made.  

If you want substitute your place on a course with someone else, please advise us as soon as possible – please note that this may incur an additional registration/administration fee.

Corporate Course Cancellations

If a confirmed booking is cancelled prior to the booked course, we retain the right to charge an administration fee of £75+vat.

All cancellations should be made in writing to our Head Office.

If a confirmed booking is cancelled more than 10 but less than 20 working days prior to the course commencement date then 50% of the fee will remain payable.

If a confirmed booking for a corporate course is cancelled less than 10 working days prior to the booked course, 100% of the fee will remain payable.

Courses which are cancelled less than 20 working days but more that 10 working days prior to the course commencement date will receive a 50% refund plus registration fee. In the event that a company wishes to re-arrange a pre-booked course, MGS Electrical Training will make every effort to accommodate the candidate with an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed.

Please note that no part refunds can be made on company courses where all delegates are unable to attend.

Where a confirmed overseas course is cancelled MGS Electrical Training will charge the customer any travel/booking costs already incurred. Where a course is to be postponed MGS Electrical Training will discuss with the customer to agree fair and reasonable terms.

MGS Electrical Training Limited reserves the right to cancel any course if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case all monies paid will be refunded/invoices credited or courses rearranged by mutual agreement with the customer.

Our liabilities to you

MGS Electrical Training will accept no financial liability, beyond the actual price paid for the course, for compensation to the customer as a result of course cancellations by MGS Electrical Training or problems arising such as computer equipment failures, power failures or any other issues affecting part or all of the delivery and examinations of courses.

MGS Electrical Trainings financial liabilities are strictly limited to the specific actual cost of the course as paid for by the course delegates. Please note that MGS Electrical Training will accept no liability for any additional expenses, which may have been incurred by the course delegates.

If course dates are to be rescheduled, this must be by mutual agreement with any payments already made by the customer to be carried forward to the rescheduled date(s).

Costs of Courses:

Our current course prices are valid until 31st of December 2008. Prices are always quoted excluding Vat. All courses are non-residential. MGS Electrical Training does not provide refreshments on any of the courses unless by previous agreement and subject to additional charges.

Please note that we reserve the right to charge for traveling expenses or tutors’ accommodation for on-site company courses in mainland UK unless agreed in advance.

The list prices shown on our web site will be charged unless otherwise agreed for a specific order by written quotation by email/fax/post. Written quotations are normally valid for 30 days from the date of the quotation.

Payments

Payments can be made by cheque, bacs or credit/debit card. Cheques should be made payable to Monarch Group Systems. Payment for all courses are due as detailed above, unless otherwise agreed in writing or by the terms stated on invoice. Please note that MGS Electrical Training reserves the right to charge interest on any late payments.

Course (Class) sizes

City & Guilds 2382-10 and 2382-20 courses may take up to 8 delegates. City and Guilds 2391-10 and 2392-20 courses have a maximum number of 6 delegates and it should be further noted that special booking and registration arrangements apply to all City & Guilds 2391-10 courses.

MGS Electrical Training Courses (Copyright)

The courses that MGS Electrical Training delivers are designed to offer delegates an important blend of an acknowledged expert trainer, question and answer forums and practical sessions, with support materials. You must not photocopy, scan or photograph or try to use the training materials to train others after you have attended your course – any abuse of this will result in an infringement of intellectual property rights.

Please note that ALL City & Guilds written/computer (GOLA) examinations are and remain the property of City & Guilds and once again, any attempt to copy, scan or photograph examination papers will result in the removal of the delegate from the course – this is a serious matter and could result in further action to defend copyright and intellectual property rights

Liability

Technical information contained in our training manuals is provided for the purposes of training, whilst you are in attendance on your chosen course. We make strident efforts to ensure that all the information that you are presented with on your course is technically accurate, reliable and represents current versions of the relevant standards at the time of publication/presentation of the training,

However, MGS Electrical Training expressly does not accept responsibility or liability for consequences resulting from the use or misuse of the presented information, after the training course. All delegates are reminded that when carrying out installation, testing and commercial activities, that they should supplement the information gained on their course with reference to the current regulatory standards documents and other relevant documentation referred to on the course.

Information in training manuals is subject to change without notice to previous trainees. Reference to any specific commercial products, processes or service by a manufacturer or trade name does not constitute or imply endorsement or recommendation made by MGS Electrical Training.

Your responsibilities

If you are attending the City & Guilds 2382-20 1 day Update course it is a requirement that the candidate brings to the course a copy of photo ID and a copy of their City & Guilds 2381 certificate. Failure to provide this documentation will prevent the candidate from sitting the examination. If this situation occurs MGS Electrical Training will make an additional charge of £85 + Vat to sit the examination at a later time.

You are responsible for yourself/your fellow attendee’s safety and well being, whilst you are attending a training course with MGS Electrical Training.

At all times, delegates must follow the safety and operational instructions given to you by the MGS Electrical Training Instructor – these instructions are given for your safety and the safety of others.

MGS Electrical Training accepts no liability for personal effects, motor vehicles or other items brought onto our training centers, or any other facilities used by MGS Electrical Training for the purposes of training, by you and/or your attendees.

If any delegate refuses to carry out the instructions given to him, this may result in the delegate’s removal from the course, forthwith and without any financial liability to MGS Electrical Training.

MGS Electrical Training operates a strict non smoking policy – please do not smoke in the training centre(s)

MGS Electrical Training operates an equal opportunities policy – if any delegate is disruptive, or is abusive or proffers religious or racial abuse to others on any course, MGS Electrical Training will ask the delegate to leave the course, once again forthwith and without any financial liability to MGS Electrical Training.
